Suzanne Fields, MSW, Joins TAC as Senior ConsultantThe Technical Assistance Collaborative, Inc. (TAC) is pleased and excited to welcome Suzanne Fields, MSW, as a senior consultant. Ms. Fields will work with TAC and our affiliates to assist state, county, and non-profit behavioral health organizations plan, implement and finance best practice services for people with mental illness, substance abuse and/or other disabilities. Her primary focus will be designing services and systems of care for individuals with behavioral health needs and their families; designing managed care plans and systems approaches that address the integration of physical health and behavioral health; and financing services and systems through the development of federal Medicaid Waivers, Medicaid state plan amendments, and federal grant applications.Ms. Fields has extensive experience as a clinician and an administrator in behavioral health, children's services, managed care, Medicaid, and child welfare. Before joining TAC, Suzanne was Director of Behavioral Health for Massachusetts Medicaid. She was responsible for the service design and implementation of best practice services for children and youth under the Rosie D. judgment. Suzanne was also a key contributor to Massachusetts health reform efforts related to medical homes and care management, and its managed care design and purchasing. Suzanne is a former Director of a behavioral health managed care organization where she led efforts to improve the mental health delivery system for children involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. Suzanne also served as the City of Boston's first Director of Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health, where she led public health efforts across the city to promote youth mental health, reduce substance use and reduce violence.Founded in 1992, TAC's core mission focuses at the intersection of affordable housing, health care and human services policy and systems development. TAC's highly successful collaborative consulting model deploys interdisciplinary teams of national experts with a wealth of experience in finding real-world solutions to complex social and public policy challenges, such as homelessness, unnecessary institutionalization, serious mental illness, addiction, and poverty. In this context TAC works to promote child welfare, community alternatives to incarceration for youth, and family stability and resiliency. Suzanne Fields is a powerful and welcome addition to TAC's team of expert consultants working on these important goals. |
