What are these trainings and who should attend?
“Sharpening Our Skills” is a series of two correlated trainings developed to aid everyone who operates an SHP program that is interested in current information regarding SHP-funded programs, including those directly involved with the program and those who help develop reports and program policies. You may attend just one, or both if you choose.

What will they cover?
THE SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM – November 8.
Designed to update SHP providers on relevant reporting requirements and program regulations. This training will introduce new providers to the SHP program as well as provide a refresher to those already familiar with the program. This session will cover:

 
  • SHP eligibility
  • Resident rent
  • Grantee administrative responsibilities
  • The new Annual Progress Report
  • Program requirements
  • New program rules and regulations
  • Guidance and helpful hints on how to manage your program well and with ease.
  • Please note: The November 8th training is a repeat of a training offered in previous years.

    SHP FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT – November 9.
    A look at budgets, financial management standards and recordkeeping, and a review of federal and program specific requirements. We are happy to bring this training back for the second year. This session will cover:

     
  • Budget controls
  • Financial management systems
  • Audit report requirements
  • SHP match requirements
  • Cash management
  • When?
    November 8, 2006 (Wednesday) – The Supportive Housing Program. 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
    November 9, 2006 (Thursday) – SHP Financial Management. 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
    Check-in and coffee from 8:30 am to 9:00 am. Program will begin promptly at 9:00.

    Where?
    Marriott Hotel (formerly the Wyndham), Atlanta, GA
    Directions will be emailed or faxed to registered participants at least one week prior to the day(s) of the training(s).
