NOFA Released: On April 7, 2010, HUD released a Notice of Funding Availability announcing the availability of funding for new vouchers for non-elderly people with disabilities including:

Category 1: an estimated 4,300 vouchers for non-elderly disabled households on a Public Housing Agency (PHA) waiting lists; and
-
Category 2: an estimated 1,000 vouchers to enable non-elderly households with disabilities to transition from nursing homes and other health care institutions into the community.
Applications are due to HUD by July 7, 2010.
Technical Assistance Available
Direct assistance is available for Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) and partner organizations interested in applying for these new vouchers. To access this assistance, complete the request form on this page.

Special assistance is also available for those agencies interested in applying for Category 2 vouchers linked to Medicaid-funded Money Follows the Person (MFP) activities in the following states: AR, CA, CT, DE, DC,GA, HI, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MO, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, TX, VA, WA, WI
