Affordable Housing

TAC provides comprehensive assistance to federal, state, and local governments to effectively utilize an array of federal and state affordable housing resources to meet the housing needs of extremely low-income individuals and families, including people who are homeless and people with disabilities.

TAC's areas of expertise include affordable housing, developing financing, federal affordable housing regulations, programs, policies, and regulations, permanent supportive housing, federal fair housing policies, bridge rental subsidies, and other "best practice" housing approaches for vulnerable populations.


TAC specializes in assisting states and communities to effectively utilize an array of federal mainstream affordable housing programs including the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program, the HOME Program, the Community Development Block Grant Program, Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS, the Housing Choice Voucher Program, including HUD McKinney-Vento, and the Section 8 Project-Based Voucher Program, as well as new resources such as the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.

 

Recent Projects:

 

Monmouth County Department of Social Services: TAC provided housing consultation and assistance to the Regan Development Corp. and the Monmouth County Department of Social Services to assist in using Housing Choice Voucher project0based assistance to create permanent supportive housing options for persons with multiple sclerosis in New Jersey.

 

Cornerstone Transitional Housing Program: TAC provided individual direct assistance to a transitional housing project in Rapid City, South Dakota to assist the agency staff in resolving the issue of using Housing Choice Vouchers within a McKinney-Vento funded transitional housing program. TAC conducted an onsite assessment with all interested parties, including staff from the HUD Field Office, grantee, and local Public Housing Authority (PHA), followed by a detailed written assessment outlining the extent of the problem and making specific recommendations to resolve the regulatory issues and reserve the viability of the program.
