Alison Evans Cuellar, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. She has held research positions at the Urban Institute, National Academy on Aging, and the National Academy of Social Insurance. Her research pursuits are in two areas. One examines the intersection between youth mental health and juvenile justice systems, including the effect of mental health system changes and access to services on crime among youth. The other examines new organizational forms, such as hospital systems and physician alliances, and their effects on inpatient quality and healthcare markets. In 2001, she received an award for being Outstanding Reviewer from the Academy of Management. She received her Ph.D. in Health Services and Policy Analysis from the University of California, Berkeley in 2001. Dr. Cuellar's resumé can be downloaded by clicking here.
