John A. Morris, M.S.W., is Director of the Human Services Practice of the Technical Assistance Collaborative, Inc. and Director of Health Policy Studies at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. There he is Professor of Clinical Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He is also Vice-Chair of the Annapolis Coalition on the Behavioral Health Workforce, which is currently working to create a strategic plan for our nations workforce delivering behavioral health services. Mr. Morris is past president of the American College of Mental Health Administration and its Foundation. He is a former state director of mental health in South Carolina. Currently, he serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the National Mental Health Association and a member of the National Advisory Council to the Georgetown Technical Assistance Center for Childrens Mental Health. A 1978 recipient of an MSW from Washington University in St. Louis, he serves on the editorial board of Administration and Policy in Mental Health and Mental Health Services Research and is editor of Prescriptions for Progress.
