A Statewide Strategy to Guide Permanent Supportive Housing Expansion in Oregon

The Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Housing and Community Services jointly sponsored a statewide supportive housing strategy workgroup whose members included housing developers, Community Action Agencies, behavioral health providers, criminal justice system, Coordinated Care Organizations, hospitals, tribal representatives, Continuum’s of Care, and housing authorities. TAC assisted the workgroup in establishing principles to guide permanent supportive housing (PSH) expansion, and developed specific recommendations regarding housing (i.e., sources of capital and rental assistance) and services (i.e., payment sources for support services, providers and workforce for services), as well as considerations of the type of state and local infrastructure and coordination needed to optimize and expand PSH in Oregon.
