A Statewide Action Plan to Expand Permanent Supportive Housing in Virginia

TAC assisted the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development in meeting a request from the state’s General Assembly to develop and implement strategies to expand permanent supportive housing (PSH) for individuals with serious mental illness. TAC worked with a state steering committee to develop a three-year Action Plan to expand PSH to meet the long-term need for 5,000 units. The goals addressed services and supports, capital subsidies, rental assistance, preferential access for the target population, and strategies to enhance system capacity.
