Designing Youth Housing & Services

Youth and young adults experiencing homelessness have unique needs that are often overlooked in adult-oriented housing programs. Since 2017, TAC has supported more than 20 communities in designing innovative, youth-centered housing and services through the federal Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP). As a technical assistance provider for YHDP-awarded communities, TAC supports system planners and homeless service providers to partner with local youth experts and make collaborative, data-driven decisions about the types of housing and services that best meet the needs of local youth and young adults. As each project is launched, TAC helps organizations navigate federal requirements, develop youth-centered policies and procedures, and train staff on best practices for serving youth.
