In 2024, TAC was contracted by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing to create a document highlighting opportunities to expand access to SUD care and partnerships through the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model. TAC conducted focus groups and key informant interviews with 40 participants, including individuals with direct experience as service recipients, CCBHC staff, SUD providers, and state and federal government officials. The results informed a toolkit for CCBHCs that highlights on-the ground examples of how they can deliver SUD care and develop related partnerships through the “designated collaborating organization” model. TAC highlighted challenges and gaps in delivering SUD care and in creating and fostering partnerships, offering both policy and implementation recommendations to further SUD care using the CCBHC model.
