Téo Ortega (they, them, theirs) has four years of experience working with homeless and at-risk youth. They specialize in rapid rehousing, Housing First, coordinated entry, harm reduction, strengths-based approaches, and Positive Youth Development. They have experience working with rural communities, LGBTQ2S+ populations, undocumented youth, and Native and Tribal populations. Mx. Ortega led the implementation process for Northern New Mexico’s U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program, and oversaw youth coordination and referrals for the New Mexico Balance of State Continuum of Care. They are skilled at creative solutions and strategies with youth engagement, collaborations, and implementing youth programs. Mx. Ortega has experience in direct services, youth street outreach, and youth transitional living programming.
