As part of its 2018 Olmstead settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice, the State of Louisiana established a tenant-based rental assistance program with state resources, focused on households served by the settlement. TAC helped the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) to design and implement the My Choice rental assistance program, and developed specialized forms, tools, and a policies and procedures manual to assist LDH and its state housing partner, the Louisiana Housing Corporation, with ongoing management of the program. TAC also worked with LDH to develop a budgeting and forecasting tool to track the ongoing utilization of state funding in the provision of rental assistance over the state fiscal year.
