A Statewide Supportive Housing Strategy Workgroup in Oregon

In 2020, the Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Housing and Community Services jointly sponsored a statewide supportive housing strategy workgroup whose members represented housing developers, Community Action Agencies, behavioral health providers, the justice system, Coordinated Care Organizations, hospitals, Tribal representatives, Continuums of Care, and public housing agencies. TAC helped the workgroup establish principles to guide supportive housing expansion and developed specific recommendations regarding housing (i.e., sources of capital and rental assistance) and services (i.e., payment sources for support services, providers, and workforce for services), as well as considerations of the type of state and local infrastructure and coordination needed to optimize and expand supportive housing in Oregon.
