Supportive Housing Models

Linking housing with supports is a proven and cost-effective approach to ending homelessness for many populations. Rapid rehousing, transitional housing, and other models utilize federal, state, and local resources to address the needs of specific populations such as Veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities. The goal should always be to help individuals and families quickly exit homelessness by obtaining and remaining in permanent housing. This approach has been shown to help people with long-term disabilities to access and maintain stable housing in the community.
