Improving Youth Homeless Response Systems

In addition to helping communities design youth housing and service programs under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP), TAC also works with them on local coordinated plans to address youth homelessness. TAC consultants structure and facilitate a process for cross-system planning bodies, resulting in a collective vision and action plan created in partnership with the local youth action board.

Since 2024, TAC has also proviced technical assistance through HUD’s Youth Homelessness System Improvement (YHSI) program. Through this program, communities apply for funding to address systems issues preventing them from effectively addressing youth homelessness. TAC helps communities to collaborate with local youth experts, establish partnerships, utilize youth-related data, and improve youth access to housing and services through Coordinated Entry.
