Issue Brief: Effective Behavioral Health Crisis Care for Individuals Experiencing Homelessness

Effective Behavioral Health Crisis Care for Individuals Experiencing Homelessness, prepared by a team of TAC experts, is the second brief in the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors’ series “Beyond Beds: Crisis Services.” Using as a framework the National Guidelines for Behavioral Health Crisis Care: Best Practice Toolkit issued by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the authors explore issues that should be considered when designing and implementing core crisis system components, with specific attention to the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness.
