Under a class action lawsuit filed on behalf of Medicaid-eligible children seeking certain services under the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) requirement of the Medicaid Act, TAC provides technical assistance to the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive home- and community-based system of care for children with significant mental health conditions and their families. This TA is focused on creating a standardized approach to screening and assessment, and a service model to coordinate services for children, youth and young adults across health, behavioral health, and specialty medical services. TAC is also assisting the state in developing a quality framework to identify and track key outcome measures related to its approach.
