John Gilvar, M.A., started and managed Health Care for the Homeless programs in Austin, Texas and Seattle, Washington. He founded Gilvar Consulting after 20 years of creating cross-agency, team-based integrated service delivery models focused on eliminating barriers and fostering recovery for people with complex health and housing needs. He draws extensively on his experience facilitating collaboration among emergency shelter, supportive housing, outreach, hospital, primary care, and behavioral health services providers. Many of Mr. Gilvar’s recent engagements have drawn on his expertise in coordinating public health disaster responses and leading racial equity organizational development. As a certified professional coach, he has worked with a variety of leaders in the housing, public health, and community health sectors.
